"I have a brilliant idea," exclaimed Owen. "Let's go get a bicycle pump!"
It really was a brilliant idea until they realized..
'HOW ON EARTH WERE THEY GOING TO GET TO THE SHOP TO GET A BICYCLE PUMP?'
Think, think, think.
And think again.
"Looks like both of us will have to ride on your bicycle, Ada," said Owen. He hopped on to the back seat.
Ada stood with her mouth slightly opened. She didn't think she was strong enough to give her friend, who was about the size of a baby kangaroo, a ride on her bicycle.
"I don't think I can, " whispered Ada.
"If you think you can, you can, Ada! Just like the little engine who think he could, remember?" Owen replied.
"Oooh.." quivered Ada. "Ok, I'm gonna give it a try."
"Just don't go too fast," Owen managed to say before Ada started pedaling.
With a huff and a puff, just like a little engine, Ada pedaled away with her friend, who was almost the size of a kangaroo, behind.
They cycled passed a star-shaped pond (where a mermaid swam), across a wobbly wooden bridge (where a troll slept under it) and over a fresh meadow (where three billy goats grazed). All was well until...
..they came to a high hill. A hill so high that even Jack and Jill couldn't climb to fetch a pail of water. Luckily, Owen and Ada were stronger. They were also smart kids because they never had an ounce of coffee in their life.
They pushed the bicycle uphill and stopped at the top.
Seeing that Ada was exhausted, Owen decided that it was time for him to cycle and let Ada be the pillion rider.
Wheeeeeeeeeee........down they went, in a super-fast way.
And there they were at the shop which sells bicycle pumps, nuts and bolts, screw drivers and drills. They chose a cylindrical silver pump (it was hard to decide as there were hundreds of them, all lined up according to colours and shapes) and started the journey back home.
They took the same route, in reverse order - up the hill, down the hill (where they waved bye bye to Jack and Jill), over the meadow (where the billy goats were then sleeping), across the rickety bridge (where the troll said,"hello") and passed the heart-shape pond (where the mermaid sang a strange tune.)
They pumped up the tyre with lots of air and decided to call it a day.
"We should just take a taxi next time," Ada said just before waving bye-bye to Owen.
The End.

Oh no!
Owen has a bicycle which has a basket in front and a bell that goes "ring ring" . Ada, too has a bicycle. But hers is more colourful, with tassels of beads on the handle.
Very often, both of them would cycle at the park. Round and round the garden they go. Sometimes they go fast when there is nobody ahead...Wheeeeeeeeeeee! They zoom past.
But they have to be careful when they come to corners and bends.
One day, while cycling past the pond, Owen realized his bicycle couldn't move as smoothly. He got down to check. The wheels were not turning.
"What's wrong?" Ada asked.
"I think my back tyre is punctured!" Owen replied.
D'oh..Ada slapped her forehead. What a bummer! They can't continue on their journey with a punctured tyre.
What should they do?

Detectives of the Day
Owen and Ada were the best of friends. They like spending time together - swimming, running around and laughing together.
One afternoon, they decided to go swimming together. Owen wore his red trunks and clear blue goggles while Ada came in an orange suit. She had arm floats as she couldn't really swim yet.
"Ada, look at me!" Owen said while jumping into the pool.
Splashes of water splashed on Ada. She laughed heartily.
Suddenly, Owen saw something floating on the water. He swam nearer to investigate. It was a piece of leaf, floating like a boat.
"I wonder where this leaf came from.." Owen told Ada.
"Let's find out, by matching the shape and colour of the leaf to those on the trees!" suggested Ada.
"Let's go!" they both shouted.
They came to a coconut tree. The leaves didn't quite match the one Owen was holding.
Next, they saw a palm tree. Oh no, not this one either.
Then they saw a very tall tree. Ada looked up and said, "Not this one. The leaves are too long!"
Finally, they came to a tiny tree, about the height of a little boy. Owen brought the leaf closer and..oh my! The leaves were exactly like the one in his hand. They match! The colour and the shape were the same.
Hooray! Owen and Ada solved the mystery of the fallen leaf.
What clever detectives they were!
